Fueled by the loss of the original Cleveland Browns in 1995, and the demolition of Municipal Stadium beginning in November of 1996, the first edition of ‘Municipal Stadium, Memories on the Lakefront’ was released in November of 1997.

Containing over 500 photographs from the Cleveland Press Collections at Cleveland State University, ‘Municipal Stadium, Memories on the Lakefront, 1931-1981’ offers a fascinating 50-year insight into the people and events making history at the downtown venue, from the Stribing-Schmeling heavyweight boxing match on July 3, 1931, to Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hitting streak ending in 1941, and even Len Barker’s perfect game in 1981!
