Beginning in April of 1977 with eight movies from seven countries presented at the Cedar-Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights, the Cleveland International Film Festival is celebrating its 43rd season. In 1991, the festival moved permanently to Tower City Cinemas in downtown Cleveland and now includes CIFF East and CIFF West locations.

CIFF 44 runs from March 25-April 5, 2020.

A nonprofit dedicated to bringing jobs and economic impact to Northeast Ohio by supporting a thriving and adaptive local media industry. GCFC was instrumental in procuring state funding for a standalone School of Film, Television and Interactive Media at Cleveland State University, and has continued its involvement in the development of the school’s faculty and curriculum after its opening in Fall 2018. Led by Ivan Schwartz, the GCFC’s small, but mighty staff is responsible for helping bring the film crews to Cleveland.

Originally called the Off-Hollywood Flick Fest, the Ohio Independent Film Festival was founded in 1993 by filmmakers looking for venues for independent work, particularly independent work from filmmakers who are not YET commercially successful.
