A small family farm located in rural Kinsman, Ohio, Floyd and Kim specialize in growing over 80 types of greens and produce known as “specialty crops,” in a sustainable manner utilizing mineral based fertilizers, cover crops, and other natural methods.

Red Basket Farm also offers a twelve month extended season production utilizing almost 20,000 square feet of greenhouse space, and growing “in the soil” using the same farming practices used in the fields. Currently producing field crops on approximately 15 acres, Red Basket has been able to harvest vegetables ranging from Artichokes to Zucchinis in the ever unpredictable Northeast Ohio weather.   


RICHARDSON FARMS /

In 1858, the first of six generations of Richardsons became plant and vegetable growers with property on Schaaf Road. Richardson’s is a fully-working 60-acre farm in Medina County that raises vegetables, herbs, corn (both sweet and Indian), pumpkins, and gourds. Each spring, their greenhouse is stocked with a healthy variety of locally-grown plants, vegetable plants, and herbs. You’ll find pick your own peaches and apples in their orchard, and a large pumpkin patch each fall. No farm is complete without some animals, so feel free to visit their cows, chickens, turkeys, and pigs!

Like heirloom tomatoes? Adhering to a pledge of no pesticides, no herbicides, never, ever; the heirloom tomato varieties you’ll find at Ridge Bridge Farm may not be perfectly shaped, but the over 100 varieties of tomatoe plants they offer, from cherries to their very large beefsteak varieties such as Brandywine, Indigo Apple, and Black Pineapple, are both delicious and nutritious!

Transitioning from farmers’ markets to selling plants directly from the farm, Ridge Bridge Farm also offers honey direct from their farm, microgreens, and an annual seedlings sale.

Emphasizing high quality, nutritious foods, Snake Hill Farm has been growing organic produce and raising beef organically since being certified organic by the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) in 1996. In 2002, Snake Hill Farm earned the “USDA Organic” label.

Offering four main products: seasonal produce, beef, chicken and eggs, and maple syrup, Snake Hill Farm sells primarily through North Union Farmers Market. Belted Galloway breeding stock and beef quarters are also sold direct from the farm.

Chemical free since 1993, Tea Hills Farm has built a reputation for superior quality products and friendly customer service with an on site farm market offering fresh seasonal meats, chicken, vegetables, eggs, and dairy products.

Using only organic grains and straws to provide the best quality fungi., Valley City Fungi is a small cultivator of outstanding gourmet mushrooms. You’ll find their mushrooms at local farmers markets, such as the Media Farmers’ Market, and used by fine area restaurants. Owner John Burmeister also offers spawn plugs for sale, and grow kits for those interested in growing our own mushrooms.
